Why are baby teeth so important?

Posted on 12/19/2022 by Tiny Teeth Pediatric Dentistry
Why are baby teeth so important?New parents always wonder if they have to take care of their child's baby teeth. After all, the baby's teeth fall off after a while. With this perception, many parents make the mistake of not paying close attention to the development of baby teeth. However, this is a big mistake as baby teeth are important for the proper dental health a child is to enjoy as they grow to become teenagers and adults. At our dental clinic, we ensure that our clients get the right information which will go a long way in ensuring that their children develop strong and healthy teeth.

Baby Teeth are Important for Speech Development

As your child develops their baby teeth, they will start the journey of talking. Teeth are an important part of proper speech development for your child. Therefore, if their baby teeth are impacted, it could lead to disrupted speech development which could impact their optimal growth and development.

It is therefore important that you ensure that, their baby teeth grow normally, and with no hindrance so that they can start the process of developing speech skills as they grow older.

Your Child's Baby Teeth Influence the Growth and Development of Their Permanent Teeth

Inevitably, the baby teeth will eventually fall off. However, this should not be a reason to neglect their proper growth. As they fall off, baby teeth allow or pave the way for permanent teeth to grow. Therefore, if the gaps left by the primary teeth are impacted, it could lead to improper growth of their permanent teeth.
