At Tiny Teeth Pediatric Dentistry we use cutting-edge dental technology to provide you with safe, fast, and effective results!
In the past, most dental professionals had to use the traditional x-ray systems, which require film development. These days, we use digital x-rays due to their many benefits. A digital x-ray is safer and much quicker than its film predecessor.
Modern dental x-ray machines are very safe. We use only state-of-the-art, low radiation machines and digital sensors in combination with proper lead apron and/or barrier shielding to keep the risk of excess radiation exposure as low as possible. The amount of radiation exposure your body receives from a standard set or two intraoral x-rays taken at our office is about that same as 3-5 minutes of exposure to direct sunlight. Contrast this minimal exposure with the risk of not finding an illness until it is too late, and you can see why we prescribe regular diagnostic x-rays.
The pediatric dentists at Tiny Teeth Pediatric Dentistry prescribe x-rays based on the exam findings and associated risk for cavities, not on what an insurance plan may cover. Many times the types and frequency of x-rays covered by some insurance plans are not enough to adequately diagnose certain dental conditions. The pediatric dentists at Tiny Teeth Pediatric Dentistry prescribe x-rays based on the recommendations by the American Dental Association (ADA). Read more about Digital Dental X-rays
